| Details: Silgan is currently looking to hire an experienced Electrical Engineer for a position located in Modesto CA. The person filling this position should be a highly competent Electrical Engineer with significant PLC based electrical control experience supporting high speed, highly integrated production facilities. The individual taking this position will support multiple West Coast manufacturing facilities as well as occasionally travel to other locations scattered across the US. The ability to travel overseas is required to visit OEM suppliers to participate in new equipment buyoffs on rare occasions as required. The person taking this position will also provide assistance in a secondary engineering function assisting plants with support for mechanical production operations. Individuals applying for this position should expect to be challenged on a regular basis to find new and creative solutions to complex problems while supporting multiple production facilities. Travel beyond the CA central valley can be expected on a regular basis up to 40% of the time. This is not an office position and you should expect to be in various manufacturing facilities on a near daily basis. Other General Responsibilities: Strong understanding of NEC and NFPA requirements. Strong PLC based controls experience. (Allen Bradley preferred) Proven ability to rapidly debug and diagnose problems with OEM supplied equipment. Competent AutoCAD Electrical experience. Experience with multi servo and inverter drive platforms. Able to work closely with plant electricians in a mentoring and supportive roll. Conducts equipment operational and setup training session for plant electricians, line mechanics and plant supervisors. Assist plants to identify and debug both electrical and mechanical production problems that negatively impact product quality and or line efficiencies. Works with OEM suppliers and or component vendors to specify, develop and debug new products, production equipment and complete production lines as required to produce products that meet or exceed our customer’s minimum performance requirements: Conduct electrical and mechanical production equipment buyoffs both internally and at off site OEM vendors ensuring equipment capabilities, efficiencies and product specifications are met. Works with both plants and OEM equipment suppliers to design develop and debug robotic equipment used to improve line efficiencies, increase product quality, increase production capacity and eliminate repetitive work related injuries: Identify both electrical and mechanical safety hazards and designs and directs the installation of machine guards and or interlocked electrical controls: Interface with Plant Management, Project Engineering, Equipment Engineering, and Manufacturing Engineering groups to accomplish the task noted above: Travel on a regular basis to and from various production facilities and or equipment vendors as required to accomplish the tasks noted above: Provide Electrical Engineering support to Corporate and Manufacturing Plant Lean Manufacturing and TPM programs. | ||||
